Frosting

When I hear whipped frosting, I think of whipped cream, like Grand Ma and Mom, a long time ago put on well chilled cakes. the cake was eaten at the next meal generally and no worries about frosting turning to cream and soaking the cake or whatever it does.
Wife came in this evening carrying a five gallon white bucket.
Didn't appear to be too light neither.
I asked her what it was.
She said it was whipped frosting.
For what?
She said I'm going to make a cake.
Now I like cake but ain't supposed to eat a bite.
I said who for Sherman's Army.
She said no, you are always saying you like whipped frosting.
I had no idea our pantry could hold that much flour.
The biggest cake I could think of would be a sheet cake.
She must be going to bake a sheet cake for the bed, all of them.
  • Dream Whip was the popular base for whipped frostings in the 60's & 70's. It was a powdered mix that was whipped with milk. ;-)

I bet the OP's grandma didn't use cool whip.

I'm glad she didn't. My legs might have got striped more often. :)
  • Some whipped frostings are all sugar and I can choke it down. I'm a whipped cream or cool whip based frosting kind of guy.
