How many of you are cooking with the NuWave

We just bought one of the NuWave cook tops. It's their newer model called NuWave Gold. One of the main reasons we decided on it is the keep the temperature down inside the m/h. It only heats the skillet/pan/pot/etc. It gets pretty good reviews on-line and it looks like the majority of the bad reviews is due to not knowing how to use the controls.

Anyone else using one or any other portable induction cooktop AND what do you think about it (good or bad)?

We rented a Beach House in NC and took the NuWave with us. It did great and saved us money on not eating out and giving us more time on the beach. 🙂

Girlfriend and I used the NuWave with her newly purchased RV (2002 Carri-go Dynamax) over the weekend. Brats came out great.

I will probably not ever place those frozen breakfast sandwiches in the micro wave again.Seperate the sanwich while frozen then cook on 350 for 7 minutes in the NuWave.

Over the weekend in the NuWave, I made some fresh cut french fries. Cut potatoes up in pieces then in a bowl mix in some olive oil. Cook on 350 for 20 minutes. Will taste like they were deep fried.

Warmed up some leftover pizza last night in the NuWave oven. It is so much better than heating in a microwave oven.

I ordered the BOGO induction cooktops about a month ago. For $29.99 shipping also got two skillets, a steamer, and fondue pot I think. I didn't tell my kids, because plan was to put one in the camper, and give the other one to one of them for Christmas. Then, last week I get a package from Bed Bath and Beyond. Don't know what it is until my daughter in Ohio texts me and says it for me (late birthday present...lol). I open it. Yep. You guessed it. A NuWave Induction cooktop with a 9-inch skillet. So I guess both daughters get NuWAve cooktops for Christmas...lol.

There is actually an additional model of the nuwave induction cooktop. We purchased the nuwave titanium cooktop. This model is 1800 watts has 5 degree gradations for temperature control and a larger induction coil than the other models. We love the unit. We cook on it often outside, so easy to move in and out.

You can get rid of a slow cooker and use this instead with a Dutch oven or soup pot. I would highly recommend it.

The girlfriend fixed (From Frozen) strip steaks in the NuWave oven tonight. 14 minutes then flipped over and cooked another 12 minutes. Wow, they are so tender. Outstanding!

I finally bit the bullet and purchased a portable induction burner. No, not a Nu Wave; the specs and reviews for that unit didn't seem to fit my wants and needs. Bought it on a whim and so far have only used it in my home. I like the way it holds a temperature and fact that the unit I purchased has a heat control system that I could readily understand. It's done an excellent job of maintaining a consistent temperature for holiday candy making where a 5 degree difference can give you a different product. I think it'll make a nice back up heat system for Rving days when it rains w/o overheating the vehicle.

Any one able to use the cooktop while dry camping? Specs says 600-1300 watts...just wondering if anyone has tried or if it's possible on a couple of batteries..

I fixed Burritos (from frozen) in it and turned out great! Seven minutes each side plus I added frozen fries to it the last 7 minutes.

Today, I cooked frozen french fries and a ball park frank.

First three minutes - fries only

Then 4 minutes with the fries and fresh ballpark frank

Rotate the frank. You can rotate the fries if you like but I do not.

Go another 4 minutes and it came out great.

11 minutes total with no pre-heating etc.

Cooking times may vary.
