Instant Pot Question

I just bought an Instant Pot the other day and my first experience was hard boiled eggs and they turned out great.
When they were cooking in the pot I think I had the sound off. I wasn't sure if the eggs were finished. I did see the numbers (#9) go up on the front panel. Just wondering is that the keep Warmer function. Still trying to figure this thing out, LOL.

This is the recipe I used. Hard Boiled Eggs

Thanks for the replies. I tried rice tonight and it turned out great. I think I'll use this pot a lot. I saw the Instant Cooker on sale at William Sonoma's last week with and extra 25% off, I thought what the heck I'll buy it.

Cooking rice in anything else is a waste of time.

Throw the rice and water in the pot. Plug it in. Snap on the lid and push the rice button.

  • As the timer counts up after cooking it is naturally releasing pressure. After about 10 minutes most of the pressure is gone.

The directions say: "If you don’t want to do a quick pressure release, that’s totally fine. You can just leave the eggs in there until the pressure cooker cools down naturally."

And: " It will take the cooker approximately 5 minutes to build to pressure and then 5 minutes to cook. I let the pressure naturally reduce for an additional 5 minutes after the cooking cycle completed, and then did a quick pressure release. That’s around 15 minutes, total."

I did a tough chunk of beef. I doubled the time and it was the best pot roast I've ever had at home.
  • After it cooks, it immediately switches to the keep warm setting and then the display starts counting up showing the number of minutes it has been done cooking.
