LA Dutch Oven Society

Any one familiar with the Cajun-creole Cookers at Lake Fausse Point SP?
According to their site (LA Dutch Oven Society) this is held the first Saturday of every month. We are planning our late February/early March trip to Louisiana and would very much like to take this in. There are others in that time frame, but this best fits our schedule/location best.
Is it worth planning a night or two in that area? Or rethink our route?
