Make Ahead Beef Dish a Success
So I was scanning the local supermarket fliers and see beef bottom round roast on sale @ 3.99/lb.
Catches my fancy but not quite sure what to do with the cut.
Go back through my menu file ( Uh huh. I'm a tad OCD) and find I used the same cut a few years back to make "Italian Wedding Beef Sandwiches" which is a regional fav of Chicago. Sent the man to the store and he brings me back a little less than 2 pounds. Noooooo not his fault as the ad said 5 lb minimum but there goes my plan of making some fajitas and taco meat; some beef empanada filling and yeah Italian meat for sammies.
Decided to just make the sandwiches and here is the easy peasy recipe:
Italian Beef Sandwich
And here is what the cut looks sliced after marinating for a day and braise roasting:

Running to set up my FoodSaver so the man can stop "sneaking" into the kitchen;).
