What mixer to get?

OK DD wants a counter-top style mixer for making cookies, batter whatever. Kitchenaid seems to be the go-to brand but still has 5 levels and sizes to choose. Just for periodic use at home.

Any recommendation? Different brand?

The Kitchen Aids with the bowl that lifts is the better unit. Has a much more robust gearbox. BTW, that gearbox should be cleaned and repacked with grease every 5 years or so.The manual makes no mention of this but that maintenance will make it last indefinitely. The grease does dry out and if that happens the gearbox will go to ****. Plenty of Youtube vids on how to. My wife's is 30+ years old and still working like new.

kitchen aid, I see them sell at auctions used abused for more than they cost new.

Kitchen Aid. My wife has the second largest. Great mixer. Probably outlast us.
