A curious Thing About Windows Ten, if True

Don't know if this is true, but a guy I met today told me he had 3 computers, all running Windows 10. He said that if he didn't use one of them for about a month's time, it would automatically revert back to Windows 8 or 8.1. Is that the case? Doesn't matter to me; I use my computer every day. Still, I find that interesting.

You had to spank a Pinto before it combusted. You're thinking of the pick ups that caught fire, usually in a building. Some switch under the master cylinder?
Big recall.

Just the ones that didn't self-combust. :S

That would be the Pinto

Where your friend was going with the 30 day reversion time period is the fact that, when you first upgrade from an older version of Windows to a new Windows 10, you have 30 days to decide whether to keep W10 or to revert back to the old version.

But, it's not an automatic or default action; you have to actively choose to revert (Settings/Updates & Security/Recovery/Revert back to an earlier build).

After the 1st upgrade, whenever there's a comprehensive update (aka whole new version, such as Anniversary, Creators Update), you have 10 days to keep or revert.

pure absolute BS. I have a small laptop that often goes 3-4 months between uses. It has win10. still has win 10.

But it did happen to my cousins, uncles brother in laws nephews friends brothers mother in law!;)

If you track this down, you will find
1.it did not happen to him, it was a friend.
2. The friend will tell you it didn't happen to him but to a relative
3. The realitive will say it didn't happen to him but to friend of a cousin.
And the story continues on and on and on.

You folks are right. Some experts on a dedicated Windows forum also concur that it wouldn't be possible for a computer to revert to another OS on its own. It takes user input to do so. There must have been something wrong with the guy who said he experienced it. I'm not that gullible, but thought I'd get input from others on the forum. Strange things do happen sometimes.:W

If you don't connect to the internet at least every 30 days, your Office 365 will have to be re-registered. It will still work but without complete functionality. This will happen if you have the computer on, but not online.

That's the only thing I've ever heard of that happens automatically in 30 days. I think your friend is full of it.

Its the C.I.A. playing with him.
He must be someone important..or
Have a shady past..or
Travel overseas to those places..or
Put something on the internet that was really far out (kinda like this story he told you)
There's a reason his computer is doing that and he should probably put it through his garbage disposal and chew it up. Only way to evade them.. :B :B :B

p.s. they are playing with that other guys TV and phone who posted here too. :W :W :W

No. He might have a dual boot situation going on but most likely he is full of ****

My Plex server sits for years straight without being touched. Have tablets that have been off for months straight. Computers and software don't work like he describes.
