Amazon and Netflix stream the video to you, so the amount of data you use will correlate to time (as in how long is the movie).
Netlifx, you can figure between 300 meg to 700 meg PER HOUR of watching SD content. HD you can estimate it being around 3 gig PER HOUR. Amazon Instant Video uses even more....
Unfortunately Amazon does not allow you to adjust the bandwidth setting manually, but the stream does adjust "on the fly" -- for example, if the internet connection is too slow, you won't get an HD quality movie. However, the video might break up as the bandwidth gets re-adjusted (causing skips in playback).
Netflix allows you to force the video quality - so that might be your better option.
