I doubt what you want is available at the price you want. Cheapest at Best Buy is above the price you quoted. Same at Costco. You won't find giant disc and lot of RAM for $120.

I bought a Magellan GPS with Dashcam from there for 59 bucks a few months ago.

Last year's Chromebooks should be in the c-note ball park. An enterprising mind and a few YouTube videos can crack open the underlying Linux operating system.

Maybe another $30 for a 128gb SDXC card

Paid 220.00 for a Asus basic laptop for the sole purpose of running Quicken about a year ago and that was a great buy I thought, and the Asus has been reliable. I don’t think there are any 120 laptops here in the US .. not any you’d want at least . Plenty of cheap tablets or a couple chrome books...... maybe. Anything less than 400 and large drive and reliable aren’t on the menu. But then again it’s just my opinion , who knows I’d love to find a backup to mine for that price.

Tiger Direct has some cheapo ones too.

I doubt a giant hard drive or “lots of ram” is necessary for a high school student’s studies.

I am currently responding on an HP Chromebook that sold for $125.

Think refurb sales and second hand. I've been getting the whole family's desktops from school discards (at the school or the community recycling place) for free for the last ten years.

Chromebook is not a "laptop" it is sort of a cross between a note book and laptop but depends solely on an Internet connection in order for most programs to be able to function along with lack of on board storage or expansion capabilities..

Kind of doubt it would work very well for places like Mexico which often does not have very good Internet..

Not even sure Chromebooks are even still being sold, don't know anyone with one..

Mex's cost restriction is pretty much going to rule out new laptops, Right now is a good time to be looking, lots of sales for Christmas.. But even that I doubt you will be able to buy new for under $200..

Best I have seen is Target stores has a HP Notebook with A8 Quad core AMD processor, 1 TB HD, DVD writer, 4GB memory and Win10 and it is $259.99. Might be able to find one without DVD writer for a bit less if you search around.

$120 price point might be doable in the factory refurb area, that is where I would start looking.
