Just a heads up. I bought one of these about a year ago. It reads perfectly up to 80 deg F, then goes bonkers, reads 4 to 6 deg too high. Tried everything, different batteries, different locations, different channels == same problem. I do know what the proper temperature is, thanks to a 17 year old mercury thermometer I've had and checked out thoroughly. Acurite won't make good on it; can't find my receipt.
My lesson, buy the cheapest indoor/outdoor thermometer Walmart has, then just return it if it doesn't perform.
