AT&T Bumped my data plan (and my bill)

Okay, I got past the increased administrative fee last month. But this month I noticed another five dollar increase in my AT&T bill. It turns out that they bumped my 6 gig Data plan to a 12 gig data plan and increased my bill. All without bothering to ask. Half an hour of chatting later I'm back to my old plan.

I thought about that but couldn't come up with anyone that cares.

  • Bumping up data then increasing the price is also a Comcast ploy. They bump it up even if you don't use or need it.
  • I'm a heavy tech guy, and still have no problem sharing 2gigs with my wife. All it takes is a little restraint from the above mentioned social media, youtube, random browsing. Nothing we can't do when we get home.

Admittedly that's a bit rude, but another 6 gig for 5 bucks is pretty cheap. You are a pretty small data user.
And that's with 2 phones on the plan. We don't Facebook, twitter, YouTube, or any of those things so we don't need much data. We roll over 50% each month.

We used to use our phones for hotspots 8 hours a day for work when on the road and had a 20 gig plan, but now use a Mobley.

  • I have a 2 gig plan and usually carry forward 90 percent of my data from month to month. So, I guess I am classified as a MICRO user....:)
