Banner Ads on left?

I have recently changed wireless internet carriers as my old carrier will not work at all where we are hosting for the summer. As a result I have 4G service and everything loads so fast!

I have not made any other changes to the computer. Now, when I read threads on this forum, on the left side a vertical banner ad appears on the left side of the covering part of the first few posts. This happens ONLY on the RV.NET.

I am using IE9 and pop ups are blocked.

It is annoying and no doubt costing me to download. Suggestions?

Update for you: I took the advice of switching to Firefox (I have used it in the past), and all is good again.

In fact other issues, such as a slow cursor when filling out a form are also solved.

I am a a happy camper again. Thanks all.

What kind of ads are they? Could be a browser formatting issue with IE9 which may be caused by a corrupt cache. Does using CTRL+F5 correct the issue? You may have to completely clear out your old cache and cookies? The free CCleaner can do so with one click, and does a more thorough job than just using browser controls itself.

Another way to determine if its a browser issue is to check using a different browser such as Firefox. You can install as many browsers as you want. Even run them all at the same time.

On the right for me, regardless of platform (iOS, Win 7), carrier (Sprint, ATT), radio technology (3G, Hdspa, Edge, Cable) or browser (Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox no AdBlock). Being on left has something to with browser options possibly. That they suddenly appeared with carrier switch is likely coincidence. Popup blocker won't block them because the are not popups, rather on the page. Even with AdBlock you might still be downloading, just not displaying, not sure at which level that works.

You could probably turn off display of all images, but space on page is still reserved to maintain format.
