Better Wi Fi capture in campgrounds

OK, first things first, I'm not exactly top notch computer savy but I've been looking for devices,antenna's,what have you to provide better reception(possibly better transmission) of Wi-Fi signals in a camp setting for multiple uses. Things I've looked at......JefaTech repeater kit, Wave Wi-Fi Rogue, Wi-Fi Ranger products with umbiquiti / POE.

It appears the Ranger products are among the better choices but I'm wondering about price vs performance. We're not looking for anything more than to get on line within the RV without walking about trying to get a clear line of sight. E-mail and Web browsing is all we need. We currently don't have a cell phone that is hot spot capable but I see the Ranger products offer the switching necessary to access the signals available so that feature seems worthwhile. Anyways, just trying to get a better understanding of what's out there?

I have a 3" mini plastic satellite dish that is made by Hawking technology HWDN2 that does an amazing job of bringing in weak Wi-Fi signals.

if there is NO tmobile cell service at your grandsons, there is nothing that can get you cell service

IF there is a poor signal, then a cellular amplifier with external antenna will boost the signal

However
most cellphone carriers now have a device
that attaches to a "hardline" internet service like cable or DSL
and functions as a mini cell tower ( inside home )
so your cellphone makes phone calls (the device connects to the carriers network via the internet)

i'm not sure what your asking or what you want

I have a jefa tech system and a usb type booster from amp. I have been find the cheap usb booster is superior to the jefa system. Not sure why.

I've downloaded Realtek drivers many times when the WiFi adapter manufacture didn't have updated drivers on their website.

I may give that device a try, its cheap enough and I'm sure I'll see some improvement over internal laptop antenna. Thank you for the info.

I would add that most smart phones can connect to your son's network, for data only, if he has a wireless router and you have the pass phrase, without additional devices.

Does your son have cable internet at his house? If so, perhaps he was talking about a femtocell, which is a device that attaches to your cable internet. Your phone then picks up the cell signal the femtocell broadcasts and then sends your cell phone calls over the cable internet connection to the cell phone network. i brought a cheap usb ant booster seems ok for me , the big trick is u have to be able to get out as well as receive most internal ant on pc are the problem it s a 2 way street SEND & receive, the CG ant has to see ur signal as well
