If I want to use a handsfree earpiece, I'll need to find one that works with this phone, and have the phone with me as I 'pace"....correct?

If I understand it correctly....the handset talks to the base via 2.4mHz and the base connects to the cell phone via BlueTooth.....So the handset needs to travel with you as you wander.

Get a bluetooth cordless phone. It'll be cheaper than a booster, and you'll get a lot better range. Although not in my RV, I have one at my S&B, I can walk the dog around the block and stay connected to my cell phone.
