Burned up Surge Guard

The first one was a 34730 Outload plug melted. This could have been a loose conn. But after it melted there was really no way to tell.

Second was a 34520. Terminals burned up. I had put silicone sealant on terminals so screws would not loosen up We did have low voltage at this CG.
I was conn. to a 50 AMP with a dog bone. As my MH is only 30 Amp.

These were older SG compared to what is on there WEB site now.

Also 2 different locations over many years of travel.

If it melted inside the surge guard.. You have a serious issue, No idea as to what, those connections are rock solid on mine.

Though as I said, the outlet was toasted, I had to replace it.

Just wondering if this all happened at the same campground.

Outload side of SG. (output)
SG was burned black and melted the terminals on the box.

All my male/female plugs are in good clean shape.

Wait a minute: You say it burned up on the "Outload" side.

Do you mean the outlet burned up?

This is very common epically among 30 amp outlets.. I got a FREE one in fact because that happened... Since I already had the proper outlet on hand.. I fixed it.

I do not recall if special tools are needed, but you can remove a few (Six I think screws and open the housing, You can then install a new Pigtail outlet, may be a bit longer (most are) but that's all there is to it.

in my case I cut the damaged outlet off the cord, and re-used the same cord with a new outlet and housing. This takes some good cutting tools, which I happen to have (Dremel)

If you've burned out 2 surge guard units on the output side plug then I'd be looking real close at you RV's plug where you plug in. If you're positive you weren't over on AMP draw or low voltage then you have a connection issue causing the plugs to burn/met.

I had an EMS Progressive in last MH. Will be going back to one.
Yes I always get one with Hi/Low volt protection.

Agree...get the EMS Progressive.

Our 50amp has protected quite a few times.

How many amps is it rated at vs the load that was on it?
