I am very unhappy with Good Sam’s Camping World which I have been a member of for almost 20 years.

I tried to place an order for a sale item during the February sale, but the rep said because there were so many orders and a delay in shipping from the manufacturer; they could not take my order at that time. He told me to call back later and when the problems were resolved I could place the order at the sale price. On my second call back, which was after the sale, a rep took the order, however, Armando, the Supervisor overruled the rep and refused to honor the sale price. Clearly they reneged on what I was told twice!

I feel that either the first 2 reps erred, or Armando was unwilling to listen. This is simply not acceptable! I feel if they can treat a long-time customer like this, I will need to shop where I can depend on what I’m told.

Amazon has been moving their prices up slowly. While shopping at 3 different retailers Amazon was the highest. I feel the free prime shipping is raising all the prices. After all someone has to pick up the cost.

Was there shipping charged with the original February sale? If so, they did what you asked.

Don't get me wrong, I am a life member of GoodSam but that does not mean that I am blind. I shop CW about 40% of the time. They either have a better (or just as good) price or they have that one-off item that I need/want.

Just this past Saturday I found some valve extenders for my inner duals at $20.00 cheaper than my local RV dealer. I ordered them along with other items that were on sale, many for right at what I can get them for locally. I got over the limit to obtain free shipping too.

I did have to pay $9.00 shipping charge for an oversized item, but I thought that was fair.

I ask if they could ship it to the nearest Camping World store for pick-up, but they said there was NO WAY this charge would be waived. I declined their offer. I guess I should have offered to "send MY truck"(HA!)

I understand it as a higher quality and stable work force equates to better customer service. I think it is a good move, but training, standardized policies throughout the company, and giving store managers authority to make on the spot decisions is also key. Just throwing money at a problem does not solve it. Look at our government, public schools, and health care. External bandages do not heal internal problems.

Note he considers his employees more important than the customer.
At least that explains why across the board the employees at CW are so rude.

I find much better deals on the internet, CW hits you with shipping I put in a order over the amount for free shipping, I was charged $9.00 because one item was shipped from the mfg. I haven't bought anything since

I really want to like CW. I want them to act like the little RV store I used to go to years ago that had a knowledgeable staff and just about every piece one would need to build a RV from scratch (which I just about did).
But CW lets me down every time I try them.
I hate to buy from Amazon because they're sucking the life blood out of every retail store around and soon there wont be any way small mom and pop stores can compete.
But Amazon not only beats CW on price, buying from them is straight forward. They have a better price and no BS when you check out.

Sadly I feel as long as Marcus is in charge we'll continue to get on line sales trickery and an overall attitude of making a buck anyway you can even if it alienates the customer afterward.

How would any of the people you talked to after the sale know what you were told during the sale? Seems CW needs some sort of rain check, a piece of paper or coupon, like many retail stores use.
