Can't Get Directv Signal Beeps

If the Beep is heard at home on your home TV, but not in the trailer - then there must be something about your tv in the RV that's different that's preventing the sound.

If you have a small LED tv in the house, connect it to the HR44, and see if you get the beep sound - and if you do, take the whole assembly into the RV and try it again. If you don't get the beep in the RV, that's just strange - but My money is on the TV in the Trailer.

I am here and have been here. No idea. My WAG would be the equipment is not identical but I have no input of any value.

I was hoping Bill.Satellite would show up. I'm curious about this.

I have that issue also...H25 beeps once in a blue moon, H24 never beeps, H54 Genie beeps every time.

I use DW (sometimes with a walkie talkie) calling out signal strength. I found beeps to be useless (Shaw Direct)

My Genie HR44/700 has the audible beeps which I do use when aiming, but only for initial "finding" the sat. For fine tuning I use a wireless baby monitor with the camera aimed at the DirecTV Signal Strength screen and the remote monitor with me out at the dish/tripod. No other meter needed. Expensive meter? Absolutely not needed. I have been aiming as a full timer for 9 years now this same way. I did have to get a new battery for the baby monitor remote a few years back.

DTV has a lagging aiming screen and an instantaneous one. Dish doesn't give you that?

Strange for sure if it works at home, if it has been set up before in your RV I would guess something amiss with connections. Sure would be a pain to set up without the beeps although for us we can readily view the HDTV screen from our window.

Most of the issues when setting up our sat tv when RVing have been cable or connection related. We currently have Dish network which uses a tone instead of a beep, Dish is a bit more difficult to set up primarily due to lagging response to deviations in antenna position while aiming.

Boy, that is odd and the first I've ever heard of it.

I know for a few years there DTV silenced the beeps and everyone had to fuss with cameras and meters, including me.

It couldn't be as simple as the volume on your TV, could it?
