Datron Cruise TV STS Antenna/Radome

Our new to us 2005 Safari Trek has an inoperative Datron Cruise TV STS Antenna/Radome which we have arranged to have replaced with a Winegard SK-1000 for DISH Network.

We have no information on the the installation of this Datron radome/antenna and the RV service department doing the work has, only a week ahead of the appointment, suddenly become concerned about possible complications on removing this Datron unit.

Can anybody tell where I can find installation instructions or provide the procedure for attachment to the roof so we can "reverse engineer' installation instructions for removal of the unit.

Thanks
  • IIRC, when you remove the dome you will find the antenna is simply screwed to the roof from the inside. You can simply cut any cabling that exists if it was factory installed as this cabling would be wire tied into the rest of the wiring and cannot be used as a pull wire. If it was installed after market it should be pretty obvious and you will be able to see the entry location from the roof and from inside. If that's the case you can run the Winegard wiring through the same hole.
