Brad, the new version of Truckster doesn't get the good reviews it used to get. My copy is a few years old. From reading the latest reviews not sure I would download it.

Used to use Gas Buddy but it is only as good as its users.

We now use Trucker Tools.

Web Site
Since we are 40' plus the toad, it gives us truck stops or stations that can accept our rig. Also shows sales and service, rest areas.

Using Gas Buddy, If you click on 'map', you can easily zoom out to move to another part of the country on your route, then zoom in and look at the prices for fuel. I find this is easier then typing in a city/state. That way you can see pricing for the entire surrounding area. I started doing that because I have an auxiliary tank in the bed of my pickup, which allows me to do a little more picking and choosing.

Thanks for the tip. Now I don't have to try and spell Albeekirky, NM. ๐Ÿ™‚

That's exactly what I do, especially when buying diesel. With 200 gallons on board I can pick and choose where along my route the best fuel prices exist.
Even today, we are traveling from Rapid City, SD to the Denver, CO area and we have a stop over in Cheyenne, WY. Cheyenne has the best price and we will fill up here before we leave tomorrow saving 10 cents a gallon over Denver and 15 cents a gallon over SD.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Tried Gas Buddy app this morning for the first time. Seemed to work great. Thanks all for the info.

Joe - I found the Truckster app, but saw some bad reviews about it. Some said the newest verson requires wifi?

I use a couple of three of them. My first go to app is "Truckster" which gives diesel info, plus rest areas and Wal Marts, if that is of any interest to anyone. Downside is only the major highways are shown. Second for me is Gasbuddy, then All Stays "Insterstate Diesel". Also have All Stays "iExit Trucks" which I don't use much.

True. But, it does work on a computer, by going to their web site. I used Gas Buddy for a few years on my lap top, before iPhone. Anyone remember a time before iPhones?

One thing I do like to do, is check down the road ahead, to see if the next towns are any cheaper. Even though you have a radius of reference, it is easy to keystroke the name of the town ahead, on the opening window of Gas Buddy. There have been others out there that I have tried and always go back to Gas Buddy. As apps go, there is always one that is being developed that is better than what we currently have available, so I am always watching for that new one on the horizon too.
