DirecTV has gotten a lot better than it once was. Although I've had the service for 9 years, I used to cringe every time I called about anything. You used to get people who could barely speak English, could only read from the script in front of them and never listened to what you said. Lately this is now a pleasant experience. I just had a B-band converter go out. Called and explained that I'd gone through the usual reset and then swapped the converter with another box that had been working to isolate the problem to the questionable B-band. As soon as I said that, the young lady asked for my mailing address and said another B-band would be sent out. No cost, no shipping and I had it in 2 days. On the phone about 5 minutes. As I said, Much improved.
