- Dog_FolksExplorerHappened to us last summer. After a week of screaming at Direct TV, we took their advice and called Weingard.
Found out cables in constant use on a RV, versus stapled to a building, wear out in about 4 years. Ours were seven years old. Replaced the cables and all was well again. - RoyBExplorer III had a similar problem once and I was actually looking at the DISH SAT TV signal instead of DirecTv SAT TV signal which are very close to each other in the southern skies...
Found the correct satellite and all was well...
Roy Ken - Skip___Jackie_TExplorerCould be several things but I'm like Roy, I think he is getting a a sig from the wrong Satilite. Good Luck
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIThat one is easy... The receiver has lost control of the antenna.. To restore control you have several choices.. There may be a RED button.. press it
or go to menu, find RESET and do not forget the DASH key on the remote
When it is finished re-booting, should work fine.
NOTE anytime you change antennas this is needed (Change, exmaple from a Dome on the Roof to a dish on the ground). - 2oldmanExplorer IIMine was a bad cable.

If only it were that easy. It's not.
It's certainly a good idea to do a reset but it is by no means a cure all.
Since your topic heading says you are only getting every other transponder it's more likely that one of the following things is true.
Pointed to wrong satellite.
Bad connection or cable.
Bad LNB.
Since you are using DirecTV, I would suggest that you go into the receiver setup menu, be sure you have the proper antenna type selected, go to signal meter and then signal strength. It should be showing satellite 101 and transponder 1. If you have this then exit and click the continue buttons until you reach the end. If you don't see a signal you are not properly pointed.
What model # receiver are you/he using and what kind of antenna? - Prowler_DougExplorerMine was a bad cable connection.
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerOurs was bad LNB.
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerIf you need to have it looked at and are in Livingston right now and don't mind an hour drive, go see Sats2Go (Dave) in Willis TX. He is the RV satellite "guru". Great service, reasonable prices. We stay at Rayford Crossing RV park in The Woodlands (Spring) TX. Headed that way now. 281-564-2828. www.sats2go.com
- 2oldmanExplorer IIOP.. please let us know what it was. Thank you.
