If it were me, I'd go with a 211(K/Z) which you purchase outright from dish for under $100. You can use it as a second receiver in the house. You can also attach an external hard drive which turns it into a DVR (with a one-time fee) and can have it deactivated during periods of non-use. As far as I know that's and a RG-6 cable to connect is all you need.

The box our receiver came in says VIP722K. We are trying to wade through the book that came with it, so will use your helpful responses and the book to try to figure it our. We really don't want to move the receiver from the house to the MH because it will be a bear to hook up again in the house, but will continue to research it. Thanks for the replies.

The Carryout will do a great job of getting you satellite TV in the RV with very little effort. It does work best with just one single tuner receiver like a 211, 211K, 211Z or similar. You will need to read the instructions that came with the Carryout as the antenna is set to work with DirecTV by default but you simply remove the dome, change a couple of dip switch settings, re-install the dome and follow the setup instructions. You should be watching TV in about 10 minutes once you have it all hooked up and in even less time on future setups. All the programming you receive at home you will receive in the RV with the possible exception of the Big Networks programming. This signal is spot-beamed and only available within a few hundred miles of home.

On the receiver model, my 211Z ports well between my garage and the Mother Ship. As for the other models I have no info. And by the way I'm using a roof-type dish on a tripod (modified mechanically for easier aiming).
