- GBuildersExplorerI found a 211K at a store near me and he will have some in this week.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIDish is not selling the 211k, but other vendors that still have them in stock are.
- GBuildersExplorerI didn't think about Best Buy. Dish told me that the 211K is not being sold anymore because the 211Z is the replacement.
- BusdriverExplorer IIBest buy
- GBuildersExplorerThanks for all the reply"s. I have the Winegard X2 and had the 211k but AO least it from Dish instead of purchase so I had to send it back and buy a new 211K. I ask Dish to let me buy that one but they won't do it and they want about$125 to purchase so I'll buy it online.
Roy no problem on my part.
Thanks G - TechWriterExplorerThere are three different versions of the VIP211 receiver.
In a couple of ways the first 2 versions (211 & 211k) are the most desirable since they have built-in OTA (Over The Air) tuners + RF outputs.
The "z" version is the newest.
Make sure you know what version you're buying. - 8ntw8tnExplorerI actually got mine from Winegard when I bought the Pathway X2/VIP211K package. Then I just added it to my standard DISH plan for another $7/mo.

the VIP211 receiver is used with the Dish "Pay As You Go Plan".
It can also be used on a standard plan, which is what we have. We purchased it because it was the only receiver that worked with the Pathway X2. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIIT does not matter where you buy it, The VIP-211K is made by EchoStar,, that, under a different hat, is DISH NETWORK.
So if you get it from private sale, Amazon, Camping world, Dealer, somewhere else.
It came from DISH. - RoyBExplorer IILANERD - Thanks for comments back - No harm done on my side. I am in error as I apparently haven't been keeping up with changing new things all that good... I probably need to be doing something else on this end anyway.
I only answer things in the pretense of what experience I have had for something similar that happened to me. I really shouldn't be making comments on things I have no real experience with anyway. The younger guys have all the answers anyway...
I am still pointing my SAT RCVR dish antenna using my TONE BOX using my DIRECTV SAT RCVR from one of my bedrooms at the house account. When I got tired of moving the SAT RCVR around I went to the local Electronic store and bought another SAT RCVR and they programed the chip to my account as another room on my DIRECT ACCOUNT. Cost me $5 more on my DIRECTV account.
Actually ever since the NATL BROADCAST came out with their digital high def TV signals we have stopped bringing along the SAT STUFF anymore. We get full blown HDTV in our off-road POPUP using the OTA BATWING antenna pointing at the local towns... This is better quality than the standard SAT signals we was getting from DIRECTV. If we miss out on some of the cable channels we really want to see will just downstream over the internet using MOPVIDEO.
Here I am rambling on....
Have a good one...
