Dish Network pay as you go service

Okay, so I have my brand new Winegard SK-1000 TRAV'LER dish installed on my MH and functional so I am ready to get some programming! What I want to go with is Dish Network's pay as you go program because it sounds like it is just what we need. Where is the best place for me to go for that service? From my research it looks like there are several places you can call to enroll in Dish pay as you go but I am confused. Where should I call? Is there anything about pay as you go for Dish that I should be aware of as a brand new user? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Have a look at the DishForMyRV.com website. They will sell you the equipment and sign you up for the service. Can't recall all the equipment options, but if you go with the VIP 211 and the Tailgater, there is no install for the antenna, it's portable. As for setting up the reciever and service, there is an 800-number for customer service that will guide you through this.

I highly recommend this option if you're looking for simplicity. It is more expensive, but you will have the option to start and sotp your service at will. Dish offers great programming, but their customer service is a nightmare.

Do they do installs locally?

So can all "regular" Dish dealers can do this? Or are only some specially authorized for this program?

Do as Bill suggested.

I have had travl'r and 211k on a MH that was stolen so rebought current HW. I bought my Tailgater, Mission Road Trip and 211K from a third party.

Activated directly with Dish, since already had account.

Initially used Bills link above when I initially started my system.

I would call Winegard! They can get the service setup, sell the the receiver(s) you would like to use and help you with any setup issues should you have a problem. 866-609-9374

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

When you do call DISH make sure you ask for the RV accounts section. The everyday accounts reps have NO IDEA what an RV pay as you go account is or even how to set one up.

Most of the reps have no idea....as much as I like the service, every time I sign up is an irritation.

I don't have the pay as you go service, just the regular monthly

Your research may be more accurate than my knowledge, because I thought
that you could only sign up for the pay as you go thru Dish customer service. Experience with customer service has always been prompt and helpful for me (sometime a bit hard to understand if you get my meaning)

Your only other option would be to contact a local Dish dealer. Cant help you on that part

Roof top satellite dishes are nice, but may not work so good for you if there are trees around....depending on how you rv, you may want a back up plan (think dvds) or portable dish to allow you to find a hole in the tree cover. Just a thought....

Well, you need to buy the receiver box from a third party supplier....one of which is;

http://www.solidsignal.com/cview.asp?c=DISH+Network+Receivers&mc=02

Before you buy the receiver, check with DISH to ensure it is a receiver compatible with the service. Once you have the receiver installed, just call DISH and set up an account, buy a month of service and you are good to go.
