I will be going from cable to dish in our home as well so I’ll be using one of the receivers in the RV. Sure dread getting familiar with their DVR, programming their remote where it’ll operate their equipment as well as mine. Part of it I guess.
Be careful about the equipment that's installed in your home if you also plan to use it with a dome in your RV. If they install a Hopper 3 at home you will not be able to install a Wally or 211 receiver that you would want to use in the RV. You won't have "full" DVR capability in the RV as the 211 style receiver is a single tuner receiver to which you will need to add a hard drive. So you can't watch 1 channel while recording another and since Dish uses 3 satellites and your dome has only 1 LNB you can run into issues if you plan to use more than 1 receiver in the RV.
