We have a houseboat. While tied on the dock I have a dish pointed that never has been moved in 6 plus years. We tie to the same position each time we go out an come in.

Problem when I go out off the dock I have a 2nd dish on and a rotary with its own hard wire.

Looking for the steps to use the 2nd dish.

I turn the power off the box. disconnect the cable incoming from the dock dish

Then Connect to the rotary mounted dish here is where I need help

( take for granted the dish is mounted level properly connected)

Do you turn an adjust the dish for the strongest possible signal at this point or use the remote an change it to find 110/ and or 119. When do I check switch. This is where I need help

I have learned a hard re set is often needed. But repeating set ups is from my lack of understanding. Any sites give u step by step thanks

I usually get everything up an working but feel I'm repeating some unnecessary steps

Where is this 2nd dish mounted? If it is on the boat itself you will not be able to use it for satellite TV even while tied to a dock. There is simply too much movement on board to get an antenna pointed and maintain that connection. If you are putting the antenna on a beach and running the coax to the boat that will work just fine. Just let us know a bit more about what you are trying to do.
It's also possible that you are referring to a dome style antenna mounted on board your boat. It must be an in-motion dome (capable of reception while moving) for the same reasons mentioned above. Let us know what kind of antenna and where it will be located and any additional information you can think of.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
