Thanks to all for the good info in this thread. Saves me posting a new topic. I have an older Winegard Traveler (non-SWM) with older DVR etc. (HR24...). I recently got a "new" system for the house (Genie) on a 2nd DTV account so it is time for the SWM upgrade on the RV. Then I can cancel the old RV account and do the "Genie" shuffle between house and RV.
I have spoken with a knowledgeable local Direct TV guy (independent) about the RV SWM upgrade and also replacing existing cables up top which are 7 years old and starting to corrode. He is mostly a house install guy but when I showed him the SWM diagrams he didn't flinch...fingers crossed.
