MS has released MS14-021 security bulletin Addresses recent vulnerability covering IE6.0, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

And for those XP haters YES, IT INCLUDES XP since it covers IE6.0 and up..

  • I got my IE8 update for XP pro this morning. Just open IE, tools, windows update. :C
  • I just checked and this fix has been installed automatically on my 64 bit Windows 7 machine.

    Correct.

    You may not have to wait, this update was already pushed to XP today which is what I am using right now (although I have not used IE for years)..

    Other OSs may be pushed later in a day or a few days since this IS a critical patch.. Otherwise MS update servers may get swamped..

  • I just did a windows update check and there is "nothing" on their website about this update. The site noted here IMO, is suspect, as I saw NO MS logo or other identifying marks. What gives?
