Explorer UM 100 Satellite Problem

Hi we have an Explorer UM100 auto satellite my problem is the head is a little loose and has about a 1/2" of play in it. So when there is a little wind it constantly looses signal.

Other people around us with Roof Top auto dishes have no problems while we have to constantly reaquire the signal.

The guy who installed our dish is no longer around and his replacements haven't go a clue what to do.

Have checked all of the bolts and everthing is tight. The dish is tight with the support arms. The play is in the arms. The only thing I can see to tighten is the chain drive. But I would almost have to overtighten it to stop any play in it.

There must be something I'm missing

Thanks
  • Yeah. The spot we were in was ok but the park got hit pretty hard.
Too bad. Oh well, we'll get back there in July. I hope the rain and cold is done for a while. Take care. Tom
  • Hey Tom sorry to hear that, flooding in Southern Alberta is getting way to common.
  • Off topic Trap.
We were evacuated from Bridgeview, yesterday.
I left Brooks and went over to Lethbridge, packed up and brought Nancy and the rig back to Brooks.
What a hassel. Oh, well, just another adventure.
    Take care,
    Hope the rain stops soon.

    Tom
  • Thanks Tom I may have to try that if I can't get it figured out.
Unfortunately won't be down that way until October.
  • Hey Al,
I have the explorer system also, and just had Royal Satalite in Lethbridge come over to update the controller and tighten up the dish. Try calling them for info. Tom
