Firefox web browser question

I cannot add or delete web addresses in the pull-down part of Firefox browser. It used to contain my most often visited websites.

I went throughout the procedures on the FF support website ad nauseam to no avail. I cleared out all cookies when recently and cannot populate the most visited site on the pull down back to what I want.

Any ideas?

Web browser= Fire latest version 43.0.1
OS= Vista Premium home version
10 yr old Toshiba laptop
  • Well, the CTRL-D seems to work... I will see if it keeps after restart. But the scrolling down and deleting (which I have tried several times) does not work.

    i agree, it is most likely a Vista issue. But I do not need a new computer as suggested. it works fine for a home computer for surfing, Word, Acrobat and Photoshop even though it is older.

    To add a bookmark CTRL-D

    To delete however you need to do some work.. The top link is SHOW ALL BOOKMARKS
    .. this opens the Library page in Firefox.. you can then move, or delete or organize. I do not like this new arrangement but it works.
  • I think your problem is VISTA. It is no longer supported by any software and is probably not completely compatible with the new Firefox meant to work with Win 8,8.1 and 10.

    I am afraid that with a 10 year old laptop, unless it was a VERY POWERFUL one at the time of purchase you will need to get a new laptop.

    A good analogy for your situation is you are driving a horse and buggy and most have moved on to Hybrids.
  • If it is the address bar you are referring to I just move the cursor down to the one I wish to delete (on mine it turns blue) and press the delete button on the keyboard. Don't know about adding an address though.

    "Pull-down part" ?? Are you referring to the bookmarks menu? More info please, what happens when you right click on a webpage and click on the icon that says "bookmark this page"?
