I use wood. If one eventually cracks it goes in the campfire and I whip another off on the table saw. I cut them from a 2x8 and make them wide enough to have an inch overhang on each side of the duals. I do a 45 degree angle cut down one edge starting about a half inch up. Seems to help keep them from splitting. Push them right up to the tires before I roll up on it. I carry six with me but seldom use more than four.
