Furrion Junk (Partner of Lippert)

I have had the Furrion wireless observation system since 2016, model FOS48TAPK, installed on our Rockwood. It has worked great until now but the picture quality has been steadily degrading and is now a fuzzy blur. It appears the lens has discolored for some reason, UV maybe. Needless to say Furrion does not answer support emails timely, and they have a wonderful support database that has not been updated since 2016. When they finally did answer they had no suggestion other than dropping another $300 on another piece of their garbage. Screw that. Seeing that the camera itself simply installs with 4 screws and plugs into a mini RCA jack, one would think they could buy just the camera but thats not the case. They truly suck as I always knew they did.

The moral of the story...should of known better to begin with, especially since they have a marketing arrangement with Lippert. I was actually thinking I finally found something from these clowns that was actually a decent product, but like their TVs and other electronic products the cameras are junk also. They are learning from Lippert as replacement parts are not available like a lot of Lipperts garbage.

But in the end ALL RV manufacturers want cheap. As a result, Lippert delivers on the specs. required. This applies to frames and electronic components as well.

This POS camera system was purchased aftermarket. It was not installed by the RV manufacturer. The RV manufacturer installed the bracket and ran a power wire from the running light 5 inches away to the bracket, essentially kind of forcing you to buy the Furrion camera. Just like they installed a jack for solar wanting you to buy overpriced Zamp junk. Now Zamp is another one of those companies. Nothing special about the connector they arranged for Rockwood to install, I forget its designation. However they reverse the polarity fron the way they're typically installed in an attempt to make them proprietary.

Defend them all you care to, its junk just the same no matter who specified what.

There are better products available, but the RV manufacturers don't want better quality they want low price point.
As consumer we claim we want better but we are not willing to pay for better. We want low price as well.
Sun Line, Carriage, Excel, Evergreen are RV manufacturers known for building a better mouse trap. However, they all folded due to lack of demand.
I've come to believe when it comes to quality we are our own worst enemy.

It's awfully hard to get away from Lippert since they went on a buying spree during the last recession and gobbled up so many companies that have anything to do with RV's.
They seem to impose their horrible quality and even worse engineering on any decent company they buy.

They (LCI) technically did not buy Furrion, but have some type of partnership or marketing agreement in place with them. Close enough in my book. The Rockwood came with a Furrion TV that had the worst picture quality I have ever seen on an LCD TV.

But this camera worked awesome, its only fault was the 4.3 inch monitor but I knew that going in. Its almost like the lens has discolored and that has happened since spring, it was fine in April but since has gotten worse as time goes on. What pisses me off the most is the lack of responses to emails........they're probably overwhelmed with them duevto their garbage products.
