Geez, poor ol CW just can't win

This one's not particularly their fault, but they just can't seem to win one. Like alot of others I've had my issues with their sales department, some major issues with service and now of all things with their dog chew toys.

Yep, dog chew toys. Due to previous issues we now rarely go to the CW store near us but we got a coupon for $10 off anything so thought we'd take a look. Didn't really have anything we needed but they did have a flavored (peanut butter) chew toy. Appears to be a Nyla bone type product. The girls (two Golden Retrievers) have other Nyla bones and spend a little bit of time everyday chewing on them (bought at Costco and also peanut butter flavored).

That night they both get the proverbial runs. Only new thing in the house is the chew toy. So I look at the packaging and find the following: "Benebone is a chew toy and is not to be eaten."
Really, a chew toy that shouldn't be eaten? The girls chew on them for hours. Do not bite off big chunks and swallow them. This new toy definitely has teeth marks on it and little bits (!) missing on the ends. Looks like someone took sandpaper to it.

Took away the toy and things appear all better today. Anyway, heads up, the Benebone chew toy sold at CW should not be eaten by your dog, apparently little tiny pieces or otherwise.

  • I was picking up dog poo in the yard after the snow melted. A lot of it was out for a couple months and had rendered down a bit from its original shape. I noticed a bunch of white chips and looked closer and recognized them as the white Nyla bone leftovers that my dog had digested. Who knows how many aren’t going to pass, needless to say when I went back inside they went into the garbage.
  • Oh, gee. Now CW is responsible for the dog chew toys they sell? Mommy! Mommy!
  • Nothing to do with CW, but just a heads up to ALL pet owners------
DO NOT BUY NYLABONES!!!! dogs love them, and love to chew them. Unfortunately, the nylabone shreds, and the nylon goes in their stomache, and down their throat, reaking havoc all the way. Internal bleeding, and I personally know of fatalities from these blasted things. THROW THEM IN THE GARBAGE!!!! PLEASE!!!
