- RedskyExplorerAs we use Millenicom for our Verizon service we track data usage in real time with our Cradlepoint router that has Wifi as WAN. It tracks both our Mifi devices as we use two 20GB plans during the month and the Cradlepoint makes it easy to set an alarm when usage hits 85% for the Mifi and to stop use of a Mifi when the monthly cap is reached.
What is good about this process is that we use 100% of the 40GB of data usage that we buy from Millenicom. So as outrageous as the internet fees are in the USA at least we use 100% of our plan's data allowance each month. - RvBill3ExplorerVerizon allows you to set alerts at several levels (75% used, 90%, etc) and have them emailed to you or sent as text message.
- FrankShoreExplorerThanks pianotuna, I'll set mine up that way too!
- pianotunaNomad IIIHi Frank,
My S4 has a data setting that will warn me and I can set when that alarm is triggered. - FrankShoreExplorerThanks. I was looking for a popup screen (or an alarm) that alerts me when I'm inching close to my data cap. Onavo looks good. BTW, I have a S5. Thanks
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIThe Verizon app is handy if you use multiple devices on one account. It gives a running total for all of your devices.

You can set alert levels as well as create a hard-stop so you do not exceed your data quota.
I have this on my Samsung S5. In older versions of Android, data usage is still under Settings but may be in a different location. - TrackrigExplorer IIWe use Onavo Count. It resides at the top of your screen so you can always see the count. And it will tell you which programs are using the most data.
