Good Sam Credit Card
I have used my Good Sam credit card a few times since receiving it in 2011. It has been a pain to get the correct amount of Rec points credited. I recently made a purchase online from Camping World. I should have received 5 points for each dollar purchased. Again, the correct points were not credited (only 1 point per dollar). So, once again I send a message to Barclays which handle the account. This is the response I receiving.
"Thank you for contacting us regarding your Good Sam Visa Signature Card. We can certainly address your inquiry regarding the points accrual on your account.
We show that your transaction for CWI*CAMPING WORLD posted on February 3, 2014 was classified as Sporting Good Stores and not as CAMPGROUND SERVICES. Thus, it earned 1 rewards point per $1.00. The 5 rewards point are earned for every $1.00 you spend on Good Sam memberships, products and services, Camping World purchases, and magazine subscriptions such as Trailer Life and MotorHome Magazine. We apologize for the confusion, and hope that we have been able to clarify the situation.
Merchants choose their merchant category code, Barclays does not control the category that classifies a merchant. When making a purchase, you may ask the merchant which category code do they fall.
If you have any other questions and concerns, please reply to this message.
Sincerely,
Customer Service"
Barclays is blaming Camping World. Personally, I am glad I am retired and no longer working in the business world which seems to be becoming more and more incompetent.
The credit card goes in the drawer not to be used again and I doubt I will be making any further purchases at Camping World.
Also, I will not be renewing my Good Sam membership or ERS when they expire.
