Good Sam GPS from Camping World

Does anyone have any experience with the Good Sam GPS that is sold only by CW? I have tries several GPS units in the last 6 months and have returned them all because of bizarre routing instructions on a test run to the town that is 9 miles from where we live. In theory the Good Sam GPS sounds great, apparently you define your RV and it gives the best routes available. Anyone using this right now and could comment.

Thanks
  • We have used ours and like it. It allows for RV size to warn about underpasses. I think the menu could be friendlier, but my wife is satisfied.
  • We have one and like it but do have a problem seeing it when it's sunny. Have added their sun glare package, helps some but didn't solve the problem.
  • GPS units as point and shoot devices suck! If you want it to work right for you use mapping software on your computer and up load to the GPS after verifying the route(s) in Google earth.
  • I had the Rand McNally Good Sam version for RV and returned it after my first trip. The routing was bizarre! I now have the Garmin for RV's and have few complaints. I still use mapping programs prior to taking off and add POI's for local information on the route.

what user friendly mapping software can I use on a macbook pro and upload to a Garmin GPS? And it would hopefully show low bridges and rv restricted roads.
  • I have had the 7710 Earlier version and now have the 7735 from CW. I don't think it has steered me to wrong. I like it better that other GPS I have had. This is just my opinion. Others may hate them.
  • If you're talking about the Rand McNally one they sell I have issues with it.I find it clunky to use. It's hard to go back when you need to. The first trip we used it on it worked well to get to the first campground. The second day,it would not allow us to enter the address of the second campground. Luckily I had my old Garmin Nuvi and that worked. I like the big screen but that's about it. My Smasung G4 seems to work as good as any GPS I bought.
  • I had the RM unit which is the same as GSCW and returned it after the first trip. It would lag where we actually were. It would say turn after we would pass the location to turn. Plus it could not find places we were setting in front of...
