I too like Google maps on my cell phone better than my Garmin GPS but it works mainly in cities and mixed results out on the highway. In areas without data signal the GPS works only if you input an exact address. Not possible to look up by business name or category etc. On my handheld Garmin its database with POI's is in memory. No data needed.
