Can anyone recommend a good GPS for RVing. Have a 29' fiver, towed by 3500 Dodge dually diesel.

Our Garmin RV760LMT is certainly an improvement over the 5 year old Garmin we still use in the car. I particularly like the lane guidance feature that several times has kept us in the correct lane when passing through busy areas where it would be difficult to change lanes due to traffic. I don't think that is an RV-specific feature though.

I have found on a couple of occasions that the RV routing takes us out of the way for no apparent reason when the auto routing was just as good and shorter. The RV760 does provide a warning message if it does not know whether a road is suitable for an RV, but I have never had a problem (yet) using such roads.

I am now using the Copilot program on my iPad or iPhone if you have either of those. I bet they also have it for other systems if you have one of those. Otherwise I don't really know but I bet they all have some drawback or other. I am not sure if a gps made for truckers would be any better.

Conversely I have not had problems with my Garmin RV760LTM in 2 years of use.

I normally would recommend the Garmin RV760 unit, but, since it directed me to a dangerous narrow road overlooking the Pacific south of Trinidad CA, I won't.
