Just note that many uninstallers are no more effective in removing an application than the app's built-in function - which is what they're using? You need to get an uninstaller that records a snapshot of the the complete install. Some also monitor apps to update the snapshot for changes made by the application such as updates.

Otherwise, you're better off in many cases just using a removal tool by the manufacture, which specializes in removing the app where normal uninstall is not effective.

I use Revo uninstaller. It cost a little money, but this program gets it all down to the root, every single bit. It's one of my mainstay programs. Once you see it work, your sold.

When I want to make sure an application is really and truly 100% removed form my computer, I take the following additional steps.

โ€ข After using your favorite removal tool and rebooting, scan your whole system from C:\ for any file/folders that contain the application name. Delete them
โ€ข Reboot and use a registry cleaner like the one inside CCleaner.
โ€ข You may have hidden files that you could not see in the first step, or could not remove. The only way to get rid of them is to use a Linux System Rescue CD. If you are not familiar with Linux, now is NOT the time to start learning. Find someone who is.

You really need to include what uninstall you used. Recommending using the windows is probably what most obstreperous and smart alecky people would say just to rack up another post.

AVG used to have an uninstall function in the program that you could access by bringing the software package. Plus it did everything it could to make you reconsider uninstalling. I gave AVG up for the Best Buy house program, so I'm not sure what is in AVG at this time.

Try replying to your own post noting what you have used so far.
