I-pad vs tablet

They're actually the same thing. Do you mean Apple iPad vs Android Tablet?

An ipad runs Apple's proprietary operating system, and tablets run either Anroid, Windows, or other operating systems.

Tablet is a generic term. The iPad is Apple's tablet. iPad is a (semi) specific type of tablet since there are different models and sizes.

It's similar to how one might describe the way we travel. We all have something that might be described using the generic term "RV". Some of us have a class A, B or C, or a fifth wheel or travel trailer, etc. Mention the manufacturer and model, and you're being more specific.

I-Pad is subset of portable computer type=tablet.

Put differently:

A tablet is a class of portable computer and is the latest trend in mobile computing. They have no physical keyboard, typically have wireless(and/or cellular)capability, anywhere from 7" to 10" screens and a decent battery life. Tablets most often sell for less than $600.

I-pad is a type of tablet computer.

The I-Pad is to tablet computers what the Macbook is to laptop computers.

I-pad is a tablet manufactured by Apple.

An iPad is a gift sent from God, filled with technological goodness and Mac compatibility that all earthlings should genuflect before.

A regular "tablet" is a lesser being, a Yugo, a Dodge product, the spawn of Adolph Hitler and Miley Cyrus, the Obamacare website on Day 2.

IPad requires you use itunes for everything. If you want to add/remove pics, you have to go to itunes first. An Android tablet let's you do functions more like a normal computer. Most of your better Android tablets have a usb port on them to allow use of a flash drive and will also have a SD card that you can remove.

Imo, anything with Apple is a waste. And for the record, I own an iPad.

I agree the USB port would be much more desirable. But you don't have to use itunes, you can add photos with a little $30 Apple Camera Connection attachment, at least I can with ipad2. Plug the connector into the port that you use for recharging.

Two options: Insert the SD card from the camera. Or you can use your camera's connector cord with a second USB connection plug that also comes with the same kit.

The download is very quick and you can opt to load all, selected ones, or just new ones not already on your iPad.

Then you can delete later with the trash can option at the top just like any photo.

I do this all the time while we are traveling in the RV. I got the Apple Camera Connection Kit at Best Buy.

Or pics download automatically from your I phone or Mac through icloud. You can also take pics on your Ipad. I tunes has nothing to do with it. Educate yourself on the use of your ipad and Mac OS, Rockrash. You won't have any complaints!

Rockrash: I totally agree with you. I also have an ipad. If like to be in the hands of of company that thinks that it rules the world and there is only one way to do things, than bite the apple.
If you like to get things directly from your computer to your tablet, then get any device that runs windows or android. If you like to have more money in your pocket and more space on your tablet, than get an windows or android system.
By the way, a lot of your software on a PC can run on your windows tablet. Try that on an Ipad, meaning run the same things that is on your mac. Lots of luck meaning no luck.

The I-pad is a tablet. Tablets are devices that fill the void between a smartphone and a computer. These popular gadgets predominately use Apple or Android software, Windows-based tablets have recently hit the market although they are not gaining ground as well as Microsoft had hoped.

Only Apple makes I-pads where there are many manufacturers of Android-based tablets, many are no-name companies with substandard products that inevitably have high failure rates. I personally prefer Android tablets and have been very satisfied with the devices produced by Samsung, they perform flawlessly and have great battery life.
