- CT_WANDERERExplorerBoy I thought these Apps were great to get. You guys have me wondering now. I may stay with my swinging the dish back and forth. I usually find the sat in just a few minutes that way. The only thing is if there are trees in the way. That is what I was looking for. Something that would let me know if the trees are in the way. Thanks everyone.

When I move my phone left/right the sats move about half as much as I move.
Same with SatelliteAR. I rely on my magnetic compass almost all the time. - IvylogExplorer IIII have SAtoolz for Direct and have found it to be off by as much as 30 degrees azimuth. When I move my phone left/right the sats move about half as much as I move. By taking several readings I can narrow down the sat's location. Elevation seems to be accurate. It has not replaced my good compass plus you have to have good cell service for it to work. I just compared it to my locked on 101 sat and it's off by about 15 degrees. Still worth the $5.
- 2oldmanExplorer IISatelliteAR. The elevation and azimuth given by the receiver is usually enough.
- MmwtdhExplorerI use the SAtoolz for directv and I use it to avoid trees before I set up the dish.
- CT_WANDERERExplorerThank you, Gary
- jorbill2orExplorer IISAToolz has apps for direct and dish 4.99 is the cost . The dish one is what I have and it works well to find the sat position in the sky.
- SCVJeffExplorerWell the app used to be called Dish Pointer AR. All I can find now is their "Pro" version Dish Pointer AR Pro There used to be a much cheaper version. It might be still there for the iPhone but I'm looking from an iPad
