IPHONE 6 (battery usage)

I put mine on charge when I go to bed when I wake up its 100%. Smart phones will not over charge so it doesn't hurt the battery.

My phone discharges overnight if I forget to disable my "map my walk" app. Perhaps you have some app that is using up your battery.

Check the settings under general, background app refresh and make sure it is off. Also check what apps are still loaded and close them out. This is done by double pressing the home button, and then sliding the app up and off the screen.

Then one last thing if you have not already done so is to turn the phone completely off by holding the power button at the top of the phone and the home button at the same time until the screen goes blank and the Apple appears.

Have you (or she) tried rebooting it? Just like computers, smart phones benefit from periodic rebooting. I've found that when my iPhone 5s starts using more battery than normal, rebooting usually solves the issue.

Also, check to see what apps are running. Double click the "home" button and then swipe up to close apps. I'd do that and then reboot.

P.S. If lock screen is usin 39% then check the settings for what is allowed on the notifications settings. You may be surprised.

I have found this out as well. Not necessarily with this app but I have some apps that use the location services and they do not always stop this function after you close the app. On my older iphone you can tell is location services is active if you have the little triangle/compass pointer icon active in the phone. If it is it will constantly be looking for and updating your location.

FYI, gasbuddy is one that does not always unhook location services when closed.

Yes, I have suggestions. Nine times out of ten, the reason for this behavior is that she has left every app on the phone running. Running apps eat up power, just how it is.

Here's what she should do. After logging in (she does have a password set, right?) press the home button twice. The screen will then show all running apps, and if you flick a given app upward, it will quit. You will find that everything you've ever run on the iPhone is still running, and the first time you do this, the list will be long. Quit everything that you don't need running overnight. Quit mail, and maps, and calculator, quit all that junk, and your battery will not get sucked dry overnight.

Chances are that there is only one or two apps that are responsible for this behavior. With some experimentation, you can figure out what the culprits are, and then you can use them when you need them and immediately quit them after you are done to save battery.

Lots of people blame the battery when this inevitably happens.

I have had my new 6 Plus for several months and (love it), simply turn it off at night. I usually only have to charge it about once or twice a week. Turning off the apps you are not using is a good idea and only takes a second. I don't make/get many calls but use the phone extensively everyday surfing the net, e mails etc.. i think the exceptional battery life is one of the many benefits of this amazing phone.
