I have been away from this forum for several months for personal reasons. My question is did the article on the Megawatt as a battery charger ever get done? If so could someone point me to it?

There is this one, which I was following, but nothing further was forthcoming.
I have the megawatt and works well for manual charging/equalizing. Was interested to have the pot to replace the hard to adjust thingy, and the timer.

I understand the 110V side of the thing. I was not looking for the "borg". Just how to rig up a MW to charge my battery quicker than with my WFCO. Oh well. Chalk it up to "fool me once.....". I will find a use for it someday.

Not a simple project without instructions. Basically, he added a timer to the 120VAC side (there is no "smarts") and some meters plus wired in a potentiometer to the front panel to adjust the voltage.

It has 2 separate 12VDC power supplies, each can be "fine tuned" to a specific voltage. When the high current one kicks of from the timer, the low current one takes over. Everything is manual, but it is nice to have a charger that you can adjust the voltages to EXACTLY what you want. There is very little chance of overcharging because the high current one is on a timer.

If you are in to electronic "kits", this is all pretty simple stuff. NOT FOR THE AVERAGE GUY WITH A SOLDERING IRON !

Thanks for your help but no pictures or explanation of assembly. Thanks again.
