- wintersunExplorer IISad part is that 100% of the people with billing problems and overcharges were ones dealing with Verizon directly. For us it means the end of our 4G service as we will not continue on with Verizon who we used for a couple years before switching to Millenicom. With Verizon we would be paying 55% more for half the data.
We are in the final stages of installing a T-1 line to your house where for $252 a month we will have unlimited service at double DSL speeds, which is the best we can do with the local telco monopolies that the feds have allowed to grow as they buy up their competitors. T-1 was my only option in the 1970's and now in 2014 it is still the best option where I live (60 miles from Silicon Valley by the way).

A T-1 (1.5MB up and down) for $252/month when I get 10 times that service from Verizon for less (but limited). The country IS great so I get that but if cellular was also available it would still be a much better option unless you actually NEED that unlimited data.

I just wonder if this happened because Millenicom was not paying the bill. I saw the same thing happen with a Hughes VAR and can see no other reason why Millenicom would forfeit their entire business. I have no knowledge of the actual deal so I am just speculating here but the whole thing set off my smell-o-meter. - TomG2ExplorerIt was just a matter of time. Weds, I called Verizon to see what was available just to do a price check. Then called Millenicom which I have had an account with for 3 years but it currently was on hold for the summer. They could not sell me a new mifi but I could use my old Samsung which had many problems. They told me to check with 3G. Called 3G and they said as of tuesday they could not activate Millenicom services.
Currently, Verizon has (for me) a 15GB for $90 month with a two year plan but I can only put it on hold for 3 months at a time, and 2 times a year (equals 6 months). I guess I will have to sign up for that.
