Please see the original post for an edit. Keep getting Mindspark and its junk. Wish I knew how.
Stop using IE, period.
Start tracking the WEBSITES your are visiting, you are getting this from a website which has some security hole, most likely a "roll over" inline ad (BLUE TEXT with underline) that you merely roll your mouse over and a "ad" pops up. These types of ads often have very unsecure and questionable ad content.
Use FireFox, install AdblockPlus, install betterPrivacy, install NoScript.
AdBlockPlus will stop the inline ads from firing.
BetterPrivacy handles Flash super cookies.
NoScript finally gives YOU the user full and complete control of what JavaScripts (JavaScripts are not the same as "Java", two different programs)run on each website. JavaScripts are very powerful program routines which FULL Administrative rights to YOU PC.
JavaScripts fire in the background without YOUR knowledge and can modify any and all settings on your PC along with install programs and REMOVE YOUR Administrative rights.
While NoScript is a pain it IS the only way to stop these JavaScript attacks from being launched.
I gave up on IE years ago after getting hit not once but TWICE from major Malware which had a virus payload.. Seen it happen.
I got smart and stopped using IE, while FireFox is not 100% foolproof, but with the above add ons I now have some control which you simply can not get with IE. Not to mention less ads means much faster Internet!
