new phones before contract!

not sure if anyone knows- I need to upgrade my 2 daughters phones (that are broken) before their contact is up... Contract expires in May- I would like to buy 2 IPhones (don't have to be new)- but everywhere I look is really expensive (unless they are due for upgrade)- Anyone know where I can buy 2 smartphones relatively cheap?
(well cheaper that 4-500 dollars......)

If all of these phones (yours and theirs) are on the same account, you may be able to use upgrade credits from one of your other phones to get them new phones. My wife lost here phone LONG before the contract was up but my phone was eligible. I used my credits to get her a new phone at no charge and I later used the credit from my USB cellular card to get myself a new phone. If there are credits on your account anywhere for any device Verizon will allow you to use it for any new device.

Like paulcadorsa said, check ebay and amazon. I got a smart phone for $70.00 all you have to do is make sure they are unlocked and that your sim or micro sd card works with your server, and you don't have to have a contract either. plus I get free internet when I get to a hot spot of course.:W

I picked up a refurbished iPhone 3GS for about $170 from Consumer Cellular, with no commitment; I could have walked away after 1 month and kept my phone. But they are on ATT network. I know there's at least one company on the Verizon network that is like that, but can't think of the name. Maybe you can get a smartphone that way.

Husky not sure I understand completely,

Verizon has a lot of low money contract phones.
Isn't it possible to just buy in on a family plan and get decent smartphones?
...or is it way cheaper to come thru the door with phones in hand?

I know other providers are saying bring in any device and they'll get things functioning on their network.

Probably best to talk to Verizon Wireless I imagine.
Verizon is a good outfit.

I would willing to bet the op does not use ST, as i'm thinking they have a family plan.

But since 2 people brought up ST Verizon tower phones, You can only use 3G phones on ST Verizon towers

Like Seattle Steve said, you may want to check how much it would cost to repair.
When DD broke hers, it cost us only $35 for then to provide a refurb. (non-smartphone) which I was really surprised at.

I bought 2 LG smart phones from Walmart for $200 ea. They work on the Straight Talk plan. Use Verizon towers. Runs just under $50 each a month for unlimited talk,text and web. Works for us.

Just a thought here. You might want to see how much it would be to repair your 2 iPhones. It might be cheaper than you think, and cheaper than replacing them.

I have used DigiExpress for my iPod and found them to be very reasonable and professional.

That's OK- thanks - they do not have to be IPhones (just Smartphones)- but we need them to be Verizon

I know where you can get 2 brand new no contract T-Mobile smartphones for $99.00 each.
