OBD bluetooth scanner and Android apps for diesel

Searched forums but didn't find what I need so will try this. Just bought 2016 Ram 3500 Cummins Aisin to tow 5er with. Would like to log certain engine and tranny parameters, export to Excel, and correlate to GPS logger data I can export to Excel (speed, altitude in particular). Primary interest is performance on mountain grades. Wondering what experience there is out there with Bluetooth OBD scanners and android apps, whether data is logged on android smart phone and can be exported or accessed to move to Excel and if data is in format that Excel recognizes. Some of the Android Apps I've seen include Dash Commander and Torque Pro. Appears there are quite a number of Bluetooth OBD scanner interfaces.

Thanks in advance.

  • Last time I looked they did not have a version of the App for my 2007 Dodge 6.7L. Anyone know if there has been an update to add somewhat older Dodges?
  • Thanks for responding and advice. Ordered Kiwi 3 dongle and downloaded Torque Pro. Eagerly awaiting delivery of dongle and testing the setup.

    Thanks again.

  • Yep, the Torque app is awesome. I usually only run it when towing, it'll tell you anything and everything you need to know about your truck.
  • I use Torque for Android and a ODB dongle I picked up off Ebay. Anything the vehicle mfg makes available via ODB I can read in real time.
