One Satellite, Two Rvs

The dome style dishes only receive signals from one satellite at a time. If your parents were watching a program on one satellite for instance, you would not be able to watch any programming that's on another satellite or vice versa, depending on which receiver was connected as the master.

Ok, so a dish type satellite would be better then?

If you only want SD, that's correct. For HD you need to hit 3. However, there are a lot of HD channels on the one satellite, the 101.

You could have one SAT DISH with a four port head on it. Run two RG cables to each trailer. Then you will need two SAt RCVRs in each trailer. Let the VIDEO OUTPUT of each SAT RCVR feed a VID 1 input on the two existing TV SETS.

Then each trailer will have SAT TV in the BEDROOM and LIVING ROOM that can select what SAT CHANNEL they want to see.

This is only for Standard SATELLITE channels...

This is assuming both your trailers are always parked next to each other when at home or at campgrounds ???

You could not "set it between" as that would probably block sight to sothern sky, in many situations. You might need a bunch of cable to get it out to clear sky and support all connections.

It might also be funny to watch y'all switch satellites while the other is trying to figure out where the signal went.

With Dish you cannot use an automatic antenna like a Tailgater with two receivers. The Tailgater can only be used with a single Dish 211k or 211z receiver box. But I believe you can use a 3 LNB tripod mounted antenna like the 1000.4 with 2 TVs. Someone here can probably verify that. And it will receive all 3 satellites simultaneously, including HD channels. Setting it up between two RVs would be no problem as long as it has a clear view of the southern sky.

Use a tripod mounted antenna, and check to see if the LNB has outputs for two or more receivers. Some do, some don't. A local DISH network service provider can tell you for sure. Not customer service, but a tech that knows his stuff.

With a Winegard Carryout you can watch two TVs in SD. They can be in one RV or two RVs or one in the RV and one outside. That is because with Direct TV all SD channels are on one sat. NO local channels. So the answer is yes.

Dish type antennas come in many flavors..
Solo, these are either single or dual.. The only SINGLE I know of is the Winegard Table top dish.. Most others are DUALS (Means one LNB with 2 coax connections)

Dual, Triple, Quad... and up to octal (8) single or multi-band

These will all have 2 (or more) coax outs. and can do what you wish

Multiple Multi-channel DVR's may require a special SWITCH depending on the hardware.

DirecHDTV SWM dishes....... (Single Wire Multiplex) I am not sure of.. I have no experience with that dish.. But strongly suspect that they will work, though one additional device may be needed (Splitter type).

Awesome, thanks everyone! Since I have a friend that works with DTV, I am going to go through them since he can get me a free dish, which like you guys said, can accommodate multiple boxes. It's a bummer that there aren't more options available with the carry out domes, especially for DTV.
