Update:
Calls received from Camping World & Elizabeth herself (yes, Virginia, there really is a live person named Elizabeth Black-Osborn).
CW acknowledges that they do have unusual pricing on the items, which are currently drop-shipped from the manufacturer, not warehoused or carried in CW stores. The CW buyers are checking the manufacturer's pricing to see if their wholesale costs are creating this apparent mismatch.
BTW, CW currently has the exclusive distribution rights to SmartPlug Systems' RV product line -- what's being sold through West Marine, Amazon, etc. is fine for the power inlet (vehicle side), but their 30A power cordset has marine-style Twist-lock pins for the shore side pedestal connector, not RV's straight pins.
If you want a factory manufactured, seamless 30A RV power cordset, CW becomes the only game in town. Otherwise, you'll have to buy a SmartPlug female plug & splice it on an RV cordset, or splice the RV male plug on their cordset with tinned ends. SmartPlug is good enough to provide detailed instructions and videos.
Even SmartPlug's web site doesn't have any listing on-line of the RV-style power cordset, presumably because of that exclusivity -- so I can't research their MSRP or wholesale costs.
I'm satisfied with how CW has settled the issue, and appreciate their quick response to my RV.net post.
