Portable Inverter/Generator

I've seen this Kodiak "Generator" before. It's pricey in my opinion. It came up in one of my YouTube recommended vids. Talking with the guy who is pushing it and he's trying to convince me that these are "very" popular with the camper crowd. Really? I've never once remember seeing it mentioned or talking with any rv'er about it. At the current price of $2000 (yes, that's 2K), the only ones I can maybe see it being popular with are the overland folks, who seem to have tons of money to spend on gadgets like this.

Whatcha all think? Is it really that great?

Eh. It's an overpriced battery in a box, as others have said. PT Barnum said something about this kind of stuff...

this IS a solar powered generator

reflected sun rays 'heat' the boiler on the tower
steam drives a turbine powered generator

he is selling a battery in a box with an inverter and a portable solar panel to recharge the battery

there is more than Semantics involved
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Ooooh, it's been finely tuned! Good to go.

Glorified battery pack/inverter with some dc outputs and a couple gimmicky things like the rv plug.

I wonder how many hours you would have to pedal to recharge a cell phone let alone make a pot of coffee !

That was my first reply to him. Glorified battery pack/inverter with some dc outputs and a couple gimmicky things like the rv plug.

Battery pack, not a true generator.
